Terms of Service

Nelson’s Online Tutoring Service

Nelson’s Online Tutoring Service provides structured online preparation for students pursuing CSEC English A and CAPE Communication Studies.

By registering for a programme, the student and, where applicable, the parent or guardian agree to the following terms.

1. Programme Delivery

Classes are conducted online using Zoom unless otherwise communicated.

Students are responsible for having a reliable internet connection and a suitable device that allows them to participate fully in online classes.

2. Registration and Placement

Registration is required before a student may enter a programme.

Students may be required to complete a diagnostic assessment before classes begin. The purpose of the assessment is to identify strengths and areas requiring further development and to assist with instructional planning.

Registration does not constitute registration for the official CXC examination. Students are responsible for ensuring that they are properly registered with the appropriate examination authority or examination centre.

3. Student Responsibilities

Students are expected to:

  • attend classes regularly and arrive on time;

  • participate actively in lessons and learning activities;

  • complete assigned independent work and practice;

  • submit assignments by the stated deadlines; and

  • behave respectfully during online classes.

Regular attendance and consistent independent study are important parts of examination preparation.

4. Fees and Payment

Programme fees and payment schedules will be provided during the registration process.

Payments must be made according to the stated payment schedule. Failure to make required payments may result in suspension from classes until the account is brought up to date.

Any applicable withdrawal or refund conditions will be communicated as part of the programme registration information.

5. Missed Classes

Students are responsible for attending scheduled classes. A student who misses a class remains responsible for work covered during that class and for completing any assigned work.

Nelson’s Online Tutoring Service cannot guarantee that an individual make-up class will be provided when a student is absent.

If a class must be cancelled by Nelson’s Online Tutoring Service, reasonable arrangements will be made to reschedule the class or otherwise provide the missed instruction.

6. Educational Outcomes

Nelson’s Online Tutoring Service provides instruction, guided practice, feedback, and examination preparation designed to help students develop the knowledge and skills required for their programme.

However, no particular examination grade, score, or result can be guaranteed. Examination performance depends on several factors, including attendance, participation, independent study, completion of assignments, individual effort, and performance in the official examination.

7. Academic Integrity

Students are expected to submit their own work unless collaboration has been specifically authorized.

Plagiarism, unauthorized assistance, or presenting work produced by another person as one’s own is inconsistent with the academic expectations of the programmes.

8. Programme Changes

Nelson’s Online Tutoring Service reserves the right to make reasonable changes to class schedules, instructional arrangements, programme materials, or policies when necessary. Students will be informed of significant changes that affect their programme.

9. Questions

Questions concerning these Terms of Service may be submitted through the Contact page.
