About Nelson’s Online Tutoring Service
Nelson’s Online Tutoring Service provides online preparation for private candidates planning to write CSEC English A. Instruction follows the CSEC English A syllabus and combines clear teaching, guided practice, examination strategies, and regular feedback.
Classes are conducted online via Zoom, with learning activities and resources available through Moodle. The programme is open to private candidates in the Caribbean and beyond.
Our Approach
The CSEC English A programme is structured around reading comprehension, language use, summary writing, and essay writing. Students receive clear instruction, focused practice, constructive feedback, and opportunities to develop the skills needed for the examination.
The emphasis is not simply on preparing students to answer examination questions, but on helping them develop stronger communication,
comprehension, writing, analysis, and critical-thinking skills.
Experienced Instruction
Nelson’s Online Tutoring Service is led by Dr. Dorothea Nelson, an experienced educator with more than 30 years of teaching experience, including extensive experience teaching English at the secondary and post-secondary levels. Her approach combines academic rigour with clear, supportive instruction designed to help students understand what is expected of them and develop the skills needed to succeed.
